A new study commissioned by Saxony's State Ministry for Economics shows that the health economy generated €17.4 billion in gross value added in 2023, representing 12.2% of the state's total economic output and employing around 334,000 people. The sector has grown an average of 4.8% annually since 2014, outpacing overall Saxon economic growth, with particular strength in pharmaceuticals, e-health, and medical devices.
